1m60 Performing Dam – Combined with Kannan
A dam that performed at 1m60 level is always one to dream of. This mare, a daughter of Casco, had the privilege of being ridden by former Olympic Champion Rodrigo Pessoa, with whom she competed successfully on the international stage, earning placings in Lyon, Wellington, and Fontainebleau.
Performance clearly runs in this family. Her half-brother Talent competed up to 1m45 with Ireland’s John McGuinness, while other siblings reached 1m40, including Flinstone (Guillaume Marcotte) and G Star 8 (Ansgar Schmidt). Further down the line we find more international names: Superstar (1m45 with Frank Schuttert), his son J Superstar (Jake Myers), Paranda (Roberto Turchetto), and the 1m60 performer BMC Miss Kenwood with Russia’s Elena Dyshaeva.
On the sire’s side, the pedigree is anchored by none other than Kannan, the Voltaire x Nimmerdor son who himself competed to 1m60 and went on to become one of the most influential sires of modern showjumping. His offspring are renowned for sharpness and competitiveness. Among his best-known progeny are Toupie de la Roque (Pieter Devos & Julian Epaillard), James Kann Cruz (Shane Sweetnam), and the approved stallion Quabri de l’Isle. It is only a matter of time before the next generation of Kannan offspring rises to the international stage.
